Fantasy Tavern Sextet – Vol.1 New World Days

Imagine being whisked away from your mundane life as a cook in an Akihabara maid cafe and dropped into a vibrant fantasy realm where magic flows freely and monsters roam unchecked. That's the abrupt reality for our protagonist, who finds himself stranded with no way home until a chance encounter changes everything. Just as a menacing creature closes in, Lupine, the formidable owner of The Stray Sheep tavern, swoops in to save the day.

Rescued and brought to the tavern, our hero discovers a struggling establishment devoid of patrons, its atmosphere as empty as its prospects. With nowhere else to turn, he resolves to help Lupine breathe life back into the place, hoping that among the adventurers they attract, someone might hold the key to his return. Armed with the culinary expertise honed in his maid cafe days, he faces the challenge head-on, blending humor and heartfelt moments in this playful, slightly risqué harem adventure.

The cast brings this whimsical world to life with distinct personalities. Lupine, voiced by Rin Mitaka, is the tavern's earnest proprietor who took over after her father's passing. Her nurturing, if overbearing, nature endears her to the community, and her physical strength makes her a force to reckon with—whether handling rowdy guests or dispatching monsters. Yet, her disastrous cooking skills have driven customers away, creating the central conflict.

Then there's Daisy, voiced by Mochi Morisawa, a loyal staff member who views Lupine as an older sister. Her jealousy simmers as the protagonist grows closer to Lupine, leading to scheming antics that add spice to the drama. Together, they navigate the ups and downs of tavern management in a tale that promises laughter, tears, and a touch of romance.

Key features enhance the experience with smooth E-mote animations that bring characters to life, multiple routes and endings for replayability, and high-quality event CGs that capture pivotal moments. The story unfolds in a setting inspired by a real Japanese town, adding a layer of authenticity to the fantasy. Behind the scenes, talent like WaonInui on illustrations, Linkedbrain Inc. on scenario, and Yujiro Usuda as producer and planner ensures a polished, engaging journey from start to finish.

Final opinion

This fantasy adventure offers a charming premise and a vibrant cast, brought to life with smooth E-mote animations. The central conflict, driven by Lupine's disastrous cooking, provides a solid, humorous foundation. However, the story's reliance on a slightly risqué harem trope might feel familiar to genre veterans. Multiple routes and endings add significant replay value, making The Stray Sheep a compelling, if somewhat predictable, experience.
